Amy H. Johnson

Managing Partner

Amy H. Johnson was born in Lake City, Florida, and graduated cum laude from Florida State University in 1990 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. In 1999, she graduated from Florida State University College of Law and Florida State University College of Business with an MBA. Amy was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1999 and is a current member of the American Bar Association and the Jacksonville Bar Association. She specializes in corporate law, contracts, and mergers and acquisitions. Amy gives back to the legal community by guest lecturing current students on the practice of law. She also enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs at their farm in Lake City.​

Peter T. Dirksen

Partner

Peter T. Dirksen is a native of Rochester, New York. He received his B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Georgia in 1981. Peter graduated from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 1984 and received his Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida in 1985. He was admitted to the Georgia bar in 1984, Florida in 1986, and Tennessee in 1991. A current member of the Florida and Jacksonville Bar Associations and the State Bar of Georgia, Peter specializes in Estates and Trusts. A frequent lecturer in the estate planning and probate area, Peter enjoys traveling with his wife and trying new dining experiences.​

Hope E. Dirksen

Associate Attorney

Hope E. Dirksen, a native of Franklin, Tennessee, graduated summa cum laude in 2015 from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a B.S. in Finance and Political Science. She graduated cum laude in 2018 from the University of Tennessee College of Law with a concentration in Business Transactions. Hope then joined the IRS Office of Chief Counsel as an Honors Program Attorney in the Large Business & International Division. She specializes in corporate and business law and state and federal taxation. She is admitted to practice in Tennessee, Florida, and the U.S. Tax Court — and is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association. Hope lives in Jacksonville Beach with her golden retriever.

Thomas M. Reiter

Of Counsel

Thomas M. Reiter is a native of Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Accountancy in 1977. Thomas then graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1980 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1981. He was also admitted to the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 1982. He received a Master of Laws in Estate Planning from the University of Miami in 1984, graduating second in his class. Thomas is a member of the Florida Bar and specializes in Estates and Trusts. Tom enjoys welding and fabricating parts for his custom vehicles with his dog Copper.

Jan D. McCormick

Of Counsel

Jan D. McCormick is a native of Oyster Bay, New York. She graduated cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University and the Washington College of Law at American University. Jan received a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Miami and is a member of the Florida Bar. She specializes in corporate transactions, business planning, state and federal taxation, ERISA, and employee benefits. Jan enjoys gardening and her golden retriever.

Rebecca Canales

Senior Paralegal

Rebecca Canales is a native of San Diego, California. Rebecca has adopted Jacksonville, Florida, as her home since 2015. Rebecca has more than 40 years of experience in the legal field and earned a paralegal certificate (with honors) from the University of San Diego School of Law ABA-Approved Paralegal Program. She is fluent in Spanish, learning French, and enjoys learning about different cultures and their food. Rebecca also loves spending time with her grandchildren.

Kathleen Lomax

Legal Assistant

Katy Lomax, a native of Fleming Island, Florida, graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, in 2022 with a B.A. in Anthropology and International Relations. Growing up an athlete, Katy maintains a strong sense of teamwork and ethics that help her communicate, organize, and prioritize diverse workloads. Katy loves nature, new challenges, new people, and pushing the envelope to improve every day.
